The family immediately launched an appeal on social media, providing details of the clothing worn by the girl at the time of disappearance: grey tracksuit, cream-coloured short jacket, white Nike shoes with pink logo and a black Furla bag.

According to initial reports, Carmen may be in the company of her boyfriend, a 22-year-old boy. Her mother Melissa has expressed deep concern about what she describes as a "toxic relationship." This would not be the first time they have been separated: last year the two had already run away together, arriving as far as Mestre, where the intervention of the police was necessary.

“The situation escalated about two weeks ago,” the mother said, explaining that the boy “fell back into his life.” She suspects that abandoning the phone on the bus was a planned act to avoid being tracked. The device was recovered, but because the PIN code was not known, it could not be accessed.
