A weekend of bad weather before the sun
The weekend in Italy is expected to be unstable, with an Atlantic disturbance that will cross the country. According to the forecasts of Mattia Gussoni, meteorologist of www.iLMeteo.it, the last rains will move away from Southern Italy, while a new unstable front will approach the Northwest.
The Alps and the Piedmont Prealps will be the first to suffer the impact of the precipitation, which will intensify on Sunday evening.
Bad weather coming to the North and Centre
On Sunday, a disturbance from France will head towards the Tyrrhenian Sea, bringing widespread worsening to the Northwest and Sardinia. In the afternoon, bad weather will also extend to Tuscany, Umbria, Lazio and part of Campania, with thunderstorms and a significant drop in temperatures. The beginning of next week will see a low pressure over the Tyrrhenian Sea keeping the atmosphere unstable, especially over the Major Islands and the Center-South.
Arrival of the African anticyclone
Starting from Tuesday 29th, the African anticyclone will begin to rapidly conquer the whole of Italy, bringing sunshine back to the entire national territory. In the following days, until May 4th, the high pressure will strengthen, guaranteeing good weather across the Peninsula. Temperatures, already rising, will reach almost summer values, with peaks of 30°C expected for May 1st and 2nd. In Tuscany, 27°C could be recorded in Florence, while much of the country will see temperatures between 24°C and 26°C.

For Sunday 27, the forecast calls for rain in Piedmont and the Alps. In the Center, bad weather will hit Sardinia, then spread to Tuscany, Umbria and Lazio. In the South, the situation will worsen in Campania. On Monday 28, the North will see irregular clouds, while in the Center there will be thunderstorms alternating with clearings. In the South, showers and clearings are expected. The trend for the following days is clear: from Tuesday, the sun and heat will progressively increase, marking the beginning of an early summer period.
