An important anti-drug operation was conducted by the financial police of the Provincial Command of Caltanissetta in Gela, where approximately 6 kg of hashish and 1 kg of marijuana were seized. The operation was triggered by reports from citizens regarding possible drug dealing activities in the neighborhood known as “Cantina Sociale”. This intervention highlights the commitment of law enforcement in combating drug trafficking, a phenomenon that continues to worry local communities.
Discovery of the drug dealer
During the checks, the Fiamme Gialle soldiers identified a 24-year-old man, originally from Gela, found in possession of 59 blocks of hashish. The narcotic substance was hidden inside a car, where it was discovered thanks to a careful inspection. In addition, a plastic package containing approximately 1 kg of marijuana was found in the vehicle, a clear sign of a well-organized drug dealing activity.
Extension of controls
Not content with just checking the car, the financial police extended their operations to the young man's homes. Here, they found and seized another 2 grams of marijuana, thus confirming the hypothesis of an active and deep-rooted drug dealing activity in the area. This operation not only led to the seizure of a significant quantity of drugs, but also highlighted the importance of collaboration between citizens and law enforcement in the fight against drug trafficking.
