Adnkronos Rome, 24 April (Adnkronos) – "We know who was right and who was wrong in the war that divided Europe and Italy, but we know that others were also wrong in the world and that therefore not everyone was right. I therefore believe that that debate in the European Parliament in 2019 must also be included in the defense of the values of freedom and democracy, which were trampled upon and denied by fascism, which were denied by Nazism until the horror of the Holocaust, but which other totalitarian cultures also denied.
So the celebration of liberation must be the celebration of freedom against every dictatorship, against every totalitarianism. With this sincere spirit we believe that April 25th is the celebration of freedom and democracy, for all Italians". This was stated by the leader of Forza Italia in the Senate, Maurizio Gasparri, on the occasion of the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Liberation.
