Child Trafficking Network Discovered: Four Moroccans Arrested

Four Moroccan Men Arrested for Child Trafficking

A police operation reveals a disturbing trafficking of newborns in Italy.

A case of child trafficking in Italy

A recent police operation uncovered a disturbing case of child trafficking involving a two-month-old baby girl. The little girl, originally from Morocco, was found in an apartment in Turin, where the baby's crying attracted the attention of the authorities.

According to the investigations, the newborn was sold by a Moroccan woman to a Moroccan couple, probably in exchange for money.

The Newborn's Clandestine Journey

Investigations revealed that the baby arrived in Italy clandestinely, transported inside a shopping bag on a ship departing from Tangier. This method of transport, in addition to being inhumane, highlights the gravity of the situation and the risk that minors run in these illicit operations. After her arrival, the newborn was entrusted to another Moroccan couple, with the hypothesis that she was destined to be sold to an Italian or foreign family.

Arrests and investigations underway

The police arrested four Moroccans involved in the trafficking. The first were accused of having illegally brought the minor to Italy, while the others were arrested for aiding and abetting. The investigation is still ongoing, with investigators trying to reconstruct the entire trafficking network and identify any accomplices. In the meantime, the child was taken to the Regina Margherita children's hospital, where she is currently in good health and is being fostered by a family in Turin.
