Rome, March 18 (Adnkronos) – The Ministry of Business and Made in Italy has adopted the directorial provision that defines the terms of opening of the counter and the methods of submitting applications for access to the incentives aimed at encouraging the purchase of electric engines in the event of the decommissioning of endothermic engines for recreational boating.

Applications can be submitted from 12.00:8 on April 12.00th until 8:XNUMX on May XNUMXth through the Invitalia online counter, the body managing the measure on behalf of Mimit. This was communicated by Confindustria Nautica.

The measure follows the adoption of the decree by Minister Adolfo Urso, in agreement with the Ministers of the Environment and Energy Security, Infrastructure and Transport and Economy and Finance of 5 September 2024, and also includes the purchase of a possible battery pack for use and installation on pleasure boats. 3 million euros are allocated to the measure.

Applications must be submitted exclusively through the IT procedure made available on the institutional website of the Managing Entity (www.invitalia.it) and also accessible from the Ministry website (www.mimit.gov.it) via Spid. Possession of an active certified email address (Pec) is required. Applicants may delegate the compilation of the application to a natural person identified by means of a proxy conferred with a declaration in lieu of a sworn statement.

The beneficiaries may submit only one application for the benefit, which may concern the purchase of a maximum of two electric motors, if the applicant is a natural person, and more motors if the applicant is a company owning recreational vessels used for commercial purposes.

The incentives, granted in the form of a non-repayable contribution and up to a maximum of 50% of eligible expenses, provide for a grantable amount of up to 8.000 euros in the case of a natural person and up to 50.000 euros in the case of a company.

Subject to the subjective limits imposed, the contribution for each individual outboard electric motor equipped with an integrated battery with a power of not less than 0,5 kW and up to 12 kW, is 2.000 euros, while for those outboard with an external battery, inboard, inboard-outboard or Pod it is 10.000 euros. The concessions granted are paid in a single solution, after the full conclusion of the purchase.

“This measure integrates the many initiatives of regulatory reform actively promoted by the National Association of the category in the last two years, mainly oriented to the competitiveness of large-scale boating, the reduction of obligations for pleasure boaters, the competitiveness of charter companies and, indeed, small-scale boating” – comments Saverio Cecchi, President of Confindustria Nautica. “In this regard, I would like to recall the revision of the Implementation Regulation of the Nautical Code, with various provisions in favor of vessels, and the introduction of the D1 License, for which the decree containing the examination methods is being signed, at a time when our Research Office in the latest market survey has found that, while the prospects of the nautical industry are overall positive, small-scale boating is experiencing uncertainty”.

The strengthening of the Genoa International Boat Show, now in its 65th edition, also fits into the framework of supporting the entire sector. Registrations opened on 20 February and this year the work on the city's Waterfront area redesigned by Renzo Piano will be completed and it will open to the public on 18 September 2025.
