Milan, October 14 (askanews) – A day dedicated to volunteering, through employee activities. Elanco Impact Day 2025 was held on Thursday, October 9th, a day during which a virtual "global tour" of volunteering involved all of the company's locations, which operates in the pet health market, from Asia to the Americas to Europe.
An absolutely fundamental moment for Elanco, as explained by Mario Andreoli, General Manager of Elanco Italy.
Today is a very important day for Elanco. Today is Elanco Impact Day. A day when all Elanco employees around the world dedicate hours of their work to volunteering. It's a very special initiative. We collaborate with various organizations. Today, for example, we're here in Milan, working with Rice Against Hunger and packing food parcels for families in need throughout Italy. Meanwhile, in Bologna, another team, Elanco, is packing food parcels for needy children in Africa.
Impact Day offers the opportunity to donate part of one's working time, regularly paid by the company, to associations and nonprofits operating throughout Italy, and has become an unmissable event for Elanco's Italian employees as well. This year, support went to Rise Against Hunger, For a Smile ETS, Caritas Ambrosiana, and Banco Alimentare.
"These days we're also collaborating with Fora Smile, an association that brings a smile to children in the pediatric wards of some hospitals. They do this through pet therapy, using dogs specially trained to play with the children and make those moments in the hospital a little lighter."
Over the years, Impact Day has seen ever-increasing participation, as evidenced by the ever-growing numbers: from 12.800 volunteer hours in 2022 to over 26.000 last year. Lucy Lorusso, one of the employees who participated, recounted the exciting experience:
"Today is an important day for us. I participated in the Fanta Elanco initiative, which is an Impact Day initiative that combines volunteering and sustainability. Today, I took advantage of the beautiful day and brought my four-legged friend with me, and we went litter picking up at a nearby park. For every piece of trash collected and every kilometer traveled, Elanco will donate to the Food Bank."
This year, Elanco celebrated its Impact Day with corporate volunteering, providing another memorable day dedicated to helping others. Employees participated with enthusiasm and passion, as always.
