Florida, Evacuation Sirens Sound for Hurricane Milton

Redington Shores, Oct. 9 (askanews) – A siren sounds in Redington Shores, on the Florida coast, in an almost ghostly scenario: it is the alarm indicating the mandatory evacuation due to the arrival of Hurricane Milton, which has been raised to Category 5, the highest on the Saffir-Simpson scale, with winds of up to 270 km per hour, announced the U.S. Hurricane Center (NHC).

Milton is forecast to become a “major and dangerous hurricane” when it reaches Florida’s west coast, the latest forecast says.
