Rome, October 6 (Adnkronos) – "Last month, a photo surfaced of a contingent of Carabinieri officers taking a prominent photo with Northern League deputy secretary Vannacci, a photo later shared on that party's social media in Veneto as a propaganda stunt. Now, a Forza Italia conference in Livorno, a few days before the regional elections, is taking place with the city's prefect.
Inappropriate choices, wrong choices." So says Nicola Fratoianni of Avs.
"The institutional greed of this right-wing government," he continues, "is evidently endless. However, we tell them: hands off. The police and the state apparatus belong to all citizens, not to those in power."
"Perhaps the time has come for Palazzo Chigi and Minister Piantedosi to send clear and unequivocal instructions throughout Italy to ensure these incidents never happen again. At least a modicum of institutional respect would be desirable," he concludes.
