Milan, November 13 (Adnkronos) – The hearing of lawyer Massimo Lovati, questioned as a "person of interest" by Brescia prosecutor Claudia Moregola in the investigation into alleged corruption related to the Garlasco case, lasted approximately four hours. Andrea Sempio's former lawyer, questioned as a witness, reiterated his longstanding claim that he received undeclared money (approximately €15) from the Sempio family for his work.
A collaborative effort, with lawyers Simone Grassi and Federico Soldani also heard as witnesses yesterday, which led to the dismissal of the 37-year-old's case in 2017. He is now under investigation again for the conspiracy to murder Chiara Poggi.
At the end of the hearing, Lovati—who was met outside the Brescia Courthouse by his lawyer, Fabrizio Gallo—said he understood that Sempio's two other former lawyers would confirm his version. Lovati also explained that the defense reports for Alberto Stasi, sentenced to 16 years for the murder of his girlfriend, were available to several people in December 2016 and had already been widely reported in the press. Former deputy prosecutor of Pavia Mario Venditti, who requested the case be dismissed, a decision subsequently upheld by a judge, and Giuseppe Sempio (Andrea's father, ed.), are under investigation in Brescia for corruption, as a corrupt person and a corruptor, respectively.
