A theory denied by the same Pavia Prosecutor's Office in the first filing, eight years ago, against the suspect Sempio. A hypothesis "without logical foundation since it is established in the proceedings that the murderer had blood on his hands and that he went to the bathroom to wash himself". Blood, liquid and soluble in water, "is washed much more easily than hair which, given its shape and length, remains much more easily on the bottom of the tub even after the blood has been washed away" and it is Chiara's hair "cut due to the blows inflicted and remained on the murderer's bloody hands; their presence attests, if anything, that he actually washed his hands". It is also "likely that the murderer did not stop to check the effect of the rinse, but quickly moved away from the scene".
The Carabinieri also intend to investigate a fingerprint found on the handle of the entrance door (deemed useless at the time by the Parma RIS) on which "it does not appear that any biological investigation aimed at determining whether that contact could have been left by a blood-stained hand (of the victim or others) or whether it was another substance" was carried out. A theory "in addition to being logically fallacious, it is of no investigative use" having been observed three days after the crime and found next to the lock. A door touched by Stasi and by rescuers and investigators. "The papillary traces, like DNA, cannot be dated. It is impossible to know whether that trace was left on the day of the crime or in the days before (or even in the days after), suffice it to say that during the survey the papillary prints were also found" of some Carabinieri involved in the investigation and of a carpenter who had come to the villa some time before to carry out some work. For these reasons, the filing concluded, "the total investigative irrelevance of the reported trail is evident".
