New Delhi, April 27 (Adnkronos/AFP) – Tensions remain high between India and Pakistan, whose soldiers exchanged gunfire for the third consecutive night after the attack in Kashmir on April 22 that killed 26 people. Without waiting for claims, New Delhi blamed Islamabad for the attack, the deadliest against civilians in the Muslim-majority region since 2000.

Pakistan immediately denied any involvement. On Monday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif again said he considered the Indian allegations "baseless" and called for a "neutral" investigation into the events.
