Jerusalem, June 18 (askanews) – Iranian missiles and Israeli air defense systems light up the sky above Jerusalem. Iran said it had launched hypersonic missiles at Israel in the latest round of nighttime attacks between the two bitter enemies, hours after Donald Trump called for the Islamic Republic’s “unconditional surrender.”
Israel's Health Ministry said more than 90 people injured in overnight Iranian missile strikes had been hospitalized.
According to Israel, Iran fired two volleys of about 15 missiles during the night. The Israel Defense Forces also claimed the downing of three Iranian drones.
After decades of hostility and a long shadow war waged through proxy and covert attacks, Israel and Iran are now directly confronting each other with unprecedented intensity, fueling fears of a wider conflict that could engulf the entire Middle East.
