Tel Aviv, June 13 (askanews) – Israel Defense Forces (IDF) spokeswoman Brigadier General Effie Defrin said that Iran launched “about 100 drones toward Israeli territory.”
Defrin added that the Iranian army chief of staff, the commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and the commander of the Iranian emergency command were killed in the overnight attacks.
The Israeli military has begun intercepting drones launched by Iran outside the borders of the Jewish state, the Arabic-speaking spokesman for the IDF (Israel Defense Forces), Avichay Adraee, announced later.
A state of emergency has been declared in Israel.
