(Adnkronos) – The time has come for the 2024/2025 graduates to take the state exam. The 2025 final exam begins today, Wednesday, June 18, with the first written test: Italian. The procedures are the same as in 2024: two national written tests (i.e. decided by the Ministry), a third test only for the specializations where it is foreseen, a multidisciplinary interview, internal and external examiners.

There are 524.415 students involved in the tests (511.349 internal candidates and 13.066 external), while the commissions are 13.900 for a total of 27.698 classes. Most of the candidates (268.577) come from high schools, followed by 169.682 students from technical institutes and 86.156 from vocational institutes.

The first test verifies both the mastery of the Italian language (or of the different language in which the teaching takes place) and the expressive, logical-linguistic and critical skills of the students. It takes place today at 8:30 with identical modalities in all the institutes and has a maximum duration of six hours.

Candidates can choose between different types and themes: the Ministry provides seven tracks for all study paths that refer to the artistic, literary, historical, philosophical, scientific, economic and technological, social fields. Students can choose, among the seven tracks, the one they think is best suited to their preparation and interests.

The test can be structured in several parts. This allows to verify different skills, in particular the understanding of linguistic, expressive and logical-argumentative aspects, as well as the critical reflection by the candidate.
