Rome, 26 April (askanews) – After the funeral of Pope Francis, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was received at Palazzo Chigi by Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.
According to a note from Palazzo Chigi, the two leaders "reaffirmed their support for President Trump's efforts to achieve a just and lasting peace, capable of guaranteeing a future of security, sovereignty and freedom for Ukraine".
In the meeting, Meloni "welcomed Ukraine's full availability for an immediate ceasefire. Now we expect Russia to also concretely demonstrate its willingness to pursue peace."
