Rome, 11 Nov. (Adnkronos) – The center-right is "governing the nation with results that are ultimately there for all to see, even the left, let's face it. In fact, now, to find a controversial topic, it is forced to spy through the keyhole on the private lives of members of the government, insult us, take it out on our families. Because it is clearly running out of arguments". This is what Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said, speaking via video link at the demonstration promoted in Bologna by the center-right in support of the candidate for governor of Emilia Romagna Elena Ugolini.

"It is obvious that we are also wrong - the Prime Minister acknowledges - we still have a lot of work to do. However, everyone sees that we are giving it our all, that we are doing decidedly better than them. We have written budget laws inspired by common sense, by pragmatism, we have concentrated all the few resources we had available to support companies that hire and create jobs, to strengthen the purchasing power of families. We have stopped throwing citizens' money out the window and, despite the debts to pay that previous governments left us, we have not increased taxes but decreased them. Today the main macroeconomic indicators tell us of a solid Italy that faces difficulties better than other European nations. Since we took office, the spread has fallen by one hundred points. In 2023, the Italian stock exchange was the best in Europe. For the first time, we became the fourth exporting nation in the world, overtaking first South Korea and then Japan. We have the lowest inflation among the G7 economies and among the lowest in Europe. And the last time we put government bonds on the market, out of thirteen billion euros available, requests came in for over two hundred billion euros. That is, everyone today wants to invest their savings with us, because we are no longer the nation without certainties. Today we are the nation that gives certainties. And then - he insists - the employment data are those that make us most proud. We have the highest employment rate since the Expedition of the Thousand and the lowest unemployment rate since the first iPhone was launched. Stable contracts are growing. Precariousness is decreasing. Self-employed workers are growing, which means that more and more Italians are ready to get involved".
