Rome, November 13 (Adnkronos) – "Meloni said that if we 'wasted two years' in Albania, it wasn't her fault and that the migrant centers would 'work' with new agreements in Europe. In reality, if she's looking for someone to blame for the two years wasted on immigration, she should look in the mirror and answer these simple questions: Why did we waste almost €1 billion in Albania and keep our police forces stuck there in empty centers if they couldn't function? What happened to the 'immediate naval blockade' promised to voters?"
The leader of the Five Star Movement, Giuseppe Conte, wrote this on X.
"Wouldn't it have been better to work immediately on European redistribution, as we have done, rather than persist with failed projects, resulting in over 300 migrants landing in Italy in these three years of government, a worse rate than previous governments? A common-sense proposal: let's find money and police in Albania to deploy in our cities, where thousands of police and Carabinieri are lacking and thefts and muggings are on the rise. Let's not waste any more time," he concludes.
