Milan, 8 Feb. (Adnkronos) – The interrogation to validate the arrest of Pablo Gonzalez Rivas, the partner of Jhoanna Nataly Quintanilla, the babysitter who disappeared on the night between January 24 and 25, has begun before Milan judge Anna Calabi. The man, 48, must answer for voluntary homicide aggravated by futile motives and concealment of a corpse. He is accused of images from cameras pointing at the building in Piazza dei Daini, in the Bicocca area, where the couple of Salvadoran origin had been living together for six years. The videos show the victim returning home in the late afternoon of January 24 and never leaving the studio apartment again.
More than anything against the suspect are the images of the garage area that show him retrieving an empty gym bag from the garage, then him going up to the apartment and then down dragging with difficulty the same bag, now become 'inexplicably' heavy, which is put in the trunk of the car. The apartment and Fiat Punto are now under seizure and the investigators are certain that the scientific investigations, entrusted to the carabinieri, will return the certainty of where the 40-year-old was killed. The in-depth investigations on the license plate, however, capture her up to Cassano d'Adda. It is in the waterway of this municipality on the outskirts of Milan that, on the afternoon of January 25 - the day after killing her - Pablo Gonzalez Rivas is said to have disposed of the body, after leaving it for hours in the car. It is a theory that still needs to be proven and that is why since yesterday the searches (which continue) are concentrated along the Adda and the Muzza canal.
The arrest warrant for the 48-year-old is contested for the "contradictions" made during the report, made to the police a week after his disappearance. He talks about depression, work problems and the renewal of his residence permit, but Jhoanna Nataly Quintanilla's friends tell a different story: he had a job interview scheduled and was planning a trip. Behind the "voluntary departure" is an attempt to hide the murder, this is the thesis of the prosecutor who requested his arrest due to the risk of escape, tampering with evidence and the risk of repetition. Yesterday, Friday 7 February, when questioned by the deputy prosecutor Letizia Mannella and the public prosecutor Alessia Menegazzo, the man – assisted by the lawyer Paola Selleri – remained silent. A silence that he could repeat today in the questioning before the preliminary investigations judge Anna Calabi.
