Rome, October 13 (Adnkronos) – "The images of the hostages kidnapped during the brutal terrorist attack of October 7th, finally freed and reunited with their families after two years spent in the hands of Hamas, fill us with joy. Celebrations also erupt in Ramallah, where Palestinian prisoners, held for years in Israeli jails, too often in inhumane conditions, are arriving and now freed."
So says Laura Boldrini, Democratic Party MP and president of the Chamber's Standing Committee on Human Rights in the World.
We've seen similar images in the past two years. The hope is that this time they mark the beginning of a new path that leads to peace, not just a truce. Let's not return to bombing, deportation, and destruction. Serious negotiations must begin here, leading to the creation of the State of Palestine, because until the Palestinian people have their own state, there can be no peace and security for either Israelis or Palestinians.
