A year of silence, then the turning point. A bimba just 14 months old, disappearance for over a year, it was found by the police of Novara in alarming conditions: positive for cocaine, malnourished and forced to live in a state of complete abandonment, with serious health and hygiene deficiencies. The discovery occurred at the end of a complex and delicate investigation, which brought to light a story with disturbing overtones.

Having found the presence of cocaine in her system, she lived in conditions of serious degradation and total neglect, without any form of assistance and in an environment marked by serious hygiene deficiencies. This is how a woman was traced by the Novara police bimba just 14 months old, missing for over a year after being taken away from her mother by her father.
According to the woman's complaint, the man allegedly subjected her to mistreatment during her pregnancy, forcing her to carry it to term with the aim of obtain a residence permit. A few months after the birth, the man had gone away taking the newborn with him, disappearing without a trace. Subsequently, he would the little girl was entrusted to a woman with a criminal record and addicted to drugs.
The investigations, started by the Novara Flying Squad, have allowed us to trace the father's identity, known to his ex-partner only by a nickname. The investigations revealed that the man was without a stable residence and burdened by numerous police records for crimes against the person, property, related to drugs and illegal possession of weapons.

After months of relentless investigations, the man was identified inside a nightclub. Initially reticent, he later admitted investigators that she had left the child in the custody of a woman with a criminal record and drug addiction problems, resident in the province.
Once the house was located, the officers immediately realized the conditions of extreme degradation and neglect in which the little girl was forced to live. She was rushed to the Maggiore Hospital in Novara, where a toxicological test was ordered: the results confirmed the presence of cocaine in the blood of the minor.
In light of the seriousness of the situation that has emerged, the authorities have ordered the immediate transfer of the child to a protected facility. The two parents, together with the woman to whom she had been entrusted, were reported to the Public Prosecutor's Office of Novara.
The Juvenile Prosecutor's Office of Turin was also informed and - after having requested the validation of the urgent provision - started the procedure for the declaration of adoptability, in order to guarantee the little girl a safe and dignified environment.
