Rome, October 12 (Adnkronos) – "My very clear words against anti-Semitism today have been distorted by those driven by a guilty conscience and interested in exploiting them to conceal the anti-Jewish hatred that has been seething on the left since October 7th, or by those who didn't hear the speech directly," said Eugenia Roccella, Minister for Family, Birth Rates, and Equal Opportunities.
"To imagine that someone like me, a lifelong friend of Israel and the Jews, could appear before the Union of Jewish Communities and utter Holocaust denial is ridiculous, even more so than it is exploitative. Moreover, the audience listening to me perfectly understood the meaning of my speech," Roccella continued.
"In any case, I will gladly attend the hearing on yesterday's and today's anti-Semitism in the Segre Commission, where any doubts can be clarified, first of all in front of Senator Segre, who is certainly acting in good faith and whom I will telephone directly, and also in front of those who have shown very little good faith since October 7th," he concludes.
