Weather changes, October is coming: some exceptions on the main islands and in the South
Not all of them regions will be able to enjoy perfectly stable conditions. Between Thursday 9th and Friday 10th October, mild and humid winds from the west will favor the formation of a mild cyclonic bend that will affect Sardinia and, temporarily, also Sicily. The major islands, therefore, will experience a less predictable climate, with short showers and alternating clearings.
Meanwhile, at the South the residual effects of the first disturbance in October will persist, with strong winds, gusts up to 70-80 km/h and temperatures generally below average, not exceeding 19-20°C.
Weather changes, October is coming: the forecast and how temperatures are changing.
According to the latest projections weather, Italy is preparing to experience a phase of good autumn weather thanks to the arrival of an ottobrata: a term born in the nineteenth century to describe the warm and clear days which favored trips out of town. Currently a promontory of high pressure is extending its influence over the Mediterranean, ensuring sunny days and rising temperatures over the central and northern regions. Only some areas of the central and lower Adriatic remain under the influence of a cyclonic vortex from Northern Europe, which keeps the atmosphere unstable and windy.
Starting Wednesday, October 8th, in the Central-Northern areas the expansion of high pressure will guarantee stable weather, widespread sunshine and highs up to 25-26°C, giving a more spring-like than autumnal atmosphere at least until the middle of next week, before the arrival of any new Atlantic disturbances.
