Current situation in Tuscany
School closures and suspension of activities
In response to the hydrogeological risk, schools have been closed in 24 municipalities, including Livorno, to ensure the safety of students and staff. In addition, all outdoor activities, such as markets and entrances to natural parks, have been suspended to avoid dangerous situations. These decisions were made in a timely manner, considering weather forecasts that indicate the possibility of further precipitation.
Control and monitoring of the territory
The rest of the region is currently under a yellow alert, with authorities continuing to monitor the situation. Control operations are essential to prevent damage and ensure the safety of citizens. Ferries from Elba Island have also been suspended, a further precautionary measure to avoid unnecessary travel at such a critical time.
Local authorities are working closely with weather services to provide constant updates to the population. It is essential that citizens remain informed and follow the authorities' instructions to best address this emergency.
