Rome, November 12 (Adnkronos) – The three-day event in Montepulciano for 'Building the Alternative' promises to be quite well attended, as the title of the event, organized by Areadem, suggests. The event, which features Dario Franceschini, Andrea Orlando's left-wing Democratic Party, Peppe Provenzano, Marco Sarracino, and former Article 1 members, Roberto Speranza and Nico Stumpo, among others, is organized.
"We already have over 200 rooms booked," the organizers of the initiative explained to Transatlantico. So much so that several parliamentarians are looking to nearby Chianciano for accommodation.
The event will take place in the Sala della Contrada di Voltaia, an ancient district of Montepulciano. It will seat over 400 beneath the vaulted, pointed arches of the venue. Proceedings will begin on Friday, with Saturday dedicated to the agenda of "challenging the right," and Sunday will be the more politically charged time, with speeches by the group leaders of the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate, Chiara Braga and Francesco Boccia, and the head of the delegation to Europe, Nicola Zingaretti. Elly Schlein will also be the secretary.
The Chamber reported that the Democratic Party leader wasn't initially overly enthusiastic about the creation of the majority coalition, which brings together different factions that supported Schlein at the congress. "There's no attempt to rein her in or influence her, or worse... On the contrary, we want to lend a hand and strengthen the secretary's leadership," the organizers maintain. The number of parliamentarians who will participate in the initiative is being determined. "However, we will send the invitation to all Democratic Party deputies, senators, and MEPs."
