Rome, 23 Apr (Adnkronos) – "Pope Francis has never made choices with the aim of being loved, he has always made gestures without hypocrisy and pretense, with firmness, he has turned his gaze towards the last, on the peripheries of the world, on peace, social justice and the environment". Elly Schlein said this in the Chamber.
The passing of Pope Francis "deserves all our condolences and our remembrance but does not deserve the hypocrisy of those who never listened to his appeals and today try to bury his powerful message on migrants, the poor, climate change and deny treatment to those who cannot afford it", underlined the leader of the Democratic Party.
"The best way is to take the example of coherence between what he said and what he did, on peace in Gaza and Ukraine, the fight against inequalities, welcoming rather than rejecting those fleeing from war, changing a development model that is creating inequalities," Schlein added.
