Fares Bouzidi, the 22-year-old Tunisian who was driving the scooter involved in the accident that occurred in Milan on the night between 23 and 24 November 2024, will go to process with immediate trial. He is accused of resisting a public official, a crime for which he will have to appear in court on April 18. He lost his life in the accident Frames Elgaml, 19, who was travelling as a passenger.

Engineer Domenico Romaniello, in charge of the analysis, has obtained an extension of about twenty days from the Milan prosecutor's office to examine more thoroughly every aspect of the crash dynamics.
That evening, Elgaml was sitting on the scooter driven by thefriend Fares Bouzidi, who will face an immediate trial on April 18 for resistance to a public official. The request, accepted by the judge, had been advanced in recent days by public prosecutors Giancarla Serafini and Marco Cirigliano, who are conducting the investigation together with the deputy prosecutor Tiziana Siciliano and the prosecutor Marcello Viola.
It all started when the scooter did not stop at the carabinieri checkpoint. A chase ensued that ended in tragedy. For the incident, in addition to Fares, a military results investigated on charges of complicity in road homicide and two policemen for misdirection, procedural fraud and aiding and abetting.

The expert report will have to clarify whether, in the final stages of the chase, there was a contact between the carabinieri car and the scooter. An initial report from the local police had signalled the presence of a shock, a circumstance later confirmed by Bouzidi during the interrogation following his arrest for resisting arrest, in which he spoke of a “push from behind”.
However, according to the Prosecutor's Office, during the 8 km chase the Carabinieri did not violate any protocol. In its final report, the Local Police mentioned only a lateral impact that occurred in the previous phases, specifying that the victim was "in the process of falling to the ground" while the car was braking on the scene.
