Rome, November 7 (Adnkronos) – The new outdoor gym in the Piazzale Maresciallo Giardino park, located at number 81 of Via Gomenizza, next to the "Il Maggiolino" nursery school, was inaugurated this morning. The project, carried out by the Municipio Roma I Centro with funding from Roma Capitale, involved a total investment of €120.000.

The project, promoted by Lorenza Bonaccorsi, President of the Municipality I, was born with the goal of enhancing one of the most popular parks in the Prati neighborhood, transforming it into an inclusive and accessible open-air sports space. The new gym includes five functional areas designed for users of all ages and skill levels: functional fitness, sports circuit, inclusive area, Over 65 – MyLongevity, Fun & Play, with spaces also dedicated to ping pong and chess.

"This gym represents a model of urban regeneration that combines health, social interaction, and environmental sustainability. It's a place designed for everyone: children, young people, adults, and those over 65. A new community space, where well-being is built together. I especially thank Councilor Sartini and the Gualtieri Sindaco Civic List for their concrete and ongoing commitment to making this project a reality," Bonaccorsi said during the inauguration.

Stefano Marin, Councilor for Environmental Policies for the Municipio I Centro, added: "The new gym on Via Gomenizza is a project born from the local area and for the local area. We wanted to create a place that combines physical activity, inclusion, and participation, restoring value to a public green space that is now once again enjoyed and shared by all."
