A disturbing survey
Recently, a school in Bassano del Grappa made headlines for a shocking survey that appeared in the students’ chat. The question, which sparked outrage and concern, asked: “Giulia Tramontano, Mariella Anastasi, Giulia Cecchettin: who deserved to be killed the most?”. This episode highlighted not only the superficiality of some young people, but also the need for urgent educational intervention.
The reactions of the institutions
The Minister of Education, Giuseppe Valditara, expressed his disappointment, stressing that what happened demonstrates a high degree of immaturity and insensitivity. He promised that the school will take appropriate measures, not only to sanction unacceptable behavior, but also to promote a culture of respect. The minister's words highlight the importance of addressing these issues in a serious and constructive manner.
The role of associations
The humanitarian association Women for Freedom denounced the survey as a sign of a total lack of empathy. President Luisa Rizzon said that it was not just a prank, but a behavior that reflects a part of society that struggles to understand the gravity of femicide. She stressed that it is essential to educate young people to respect and be sensitive to victims of violence, so that such episodes do not happen again.
Education on respect as a priority
President Rizzon also highlighted the urgency of considering education on respect not as a secondary topic, but as an absolute priority. It is essential that schools become places where values of respect and empathy are promoted, so that young people can grow up in a healthy and aware environment. Only through a profound cultural change can we hope to reduce the phenomenon of femicide and gender violence.
