Rome, 13 Oct. (askanews) – A huge crowd gathered in Hostage Square in Tel Aviv following the news of the release of 20 hostages by Hamas, after more than two years.
Friends, family, and ordinary people who never stopped hoping and organizing rallies and demonstrations to push for negotiations to bring them home are singing, applauding, and hugging each other as they wait to see them return home.
“Today is a special day. It's a feeling I can't describe. I'm very, very, very happy,” says a woman.
“It's also thanks to our struggles, thanks to the fact that people took to the streets and squares, we made a huge contribution to the release of the hostages and, of course, thanks to the person pulling the strings: Trump,” says another.
"It's so emotional and moving that this is finally happening, that what we've been fighting for for over two years is finally happening: our hostages are coming home. But at the same time, we won't stop and we'll keep coming here until we've recovered every last body," adds another woman from Tel Aviv.
