A journey that turns into tragedy
A 17-year-old student from Grosseto lost her life in dramatic circumstances while on board a ferry to Palermo. The young woman, who was taking part in a class trip organised by the Polo Tecnologico Manetti Porciatti, fell ill during the trip, leading to a series of events that shocked her classmates and teachers.
The illness and the rescue
According to initial reports, the girl felt ill while she was in her cabin. Her companions, worried about her condition, immediately raised the alarm. Rescue was prompt: a Coast Guard patrol boat and a 118 doctor intervened off the coast of Naples. Unfortunately, despite attempts to resuscitate her, the young woman died shortly after the arrival of rescue, leaving an unfillable void among her peers.
The consequences of the tragedy
The news of the student's death has deeply affected not only her classmates, but also the entire school community. The trip was immediately canceled and the students, visibly shaken, were made to wait to return home.
