This was stated by Cesare Trippella, Director of EU Value Chain & External Engagement at Philip Morris Italia, who was appointed President of Filiera Tabacchicola Italia, on the sidelines of the 23rd Coldiretti Forum.
"We are very proud of this because with all the investments we have made within this supply chain," he explained, "from cultivation to the production of next-generation products in our Bologna plant, we generate a revenue of more than 2 billion euros and provide prospects and certainties for the next 10 years, therefore until 2035."
"It's important to provide a perspective for young farmers who, in addition to growing tobacco," Trippella added, "are also taking training courses with us to become Digital Farmers, that is, the farmers of the future. Therefore, Filiera Tabacchicola Italiana aims to represent the entire Italian tobacco industry, which is a global leader and an example for other countries internationally."
