Rome, November 14 (Adnkronos) – "The student demonstration in Turin has once again degenerated into episodes of intolerable violence, with the slogan 'Meloni appesa' (Meloni hanged), eight injured among the mobile police units involved in the clashes on Via Sacchi and in the Metropolitan City offices, and even a manhole cover thrown at riot police officers during their attempts to enter Porta Nuova station.

"These facts cannot be dismissed as mere protests," Piedmontese Senator Paola Ambrogio of the Brothers of Italy party wrote in a statement.

"These are extremely serious incidents," he continues, "which must be condemned unequivocally. This isn't political dissent, it's not youthful anger, but a genuine outburst of aggression and incitement to hatred. Those students, often carrying banners of peace, are instead living off provocation."

"Unfortunately, similar incidents are on the rise, fueling a toxic climate of insults and extremism. The silence of the left in Turin, Piedmont, and nationwide in the face of these events is worrying. Those who believe in democracy cannot remain silent; rather, they should set an unambiguous example to isolate those who exploit the streets. I also want to express my utmost solidarity and gratitude to the police forces committed to ensuring safety and public order in the face of such serious incidents," he concludes.
