Budapest, October 17 (Adnkronos) – The Russia-US summit in Hungary could take place a week after the meeting between Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán announced. "Yesterday, President Donald Trump told us to prepare; a meeting between the two foreign ministers is on the agenda.
They decided that the two foreign ministers would try to resolve the remaining issues within a week, and then, a week later, they could come here to Budapest," he told Radio Kossuth.
The prime minister clarified that last night he ordered the creation of an organizing committee to prepare for the summit and that work has already begun. Orban added that he plans to have a telephone conversation with Putin this morning. Yesterday, Trump and Putin had their eighth and longest telephone conversation since the beginning of the president's second term, lasting two and a half hours. According to presidential aide Yuri Ushakov, the two discussed a new summit, likely to be held in Budapest.
