Luca Talarico on Undercover Boss: From Architecture to Entrepreneurship
Luca Talarico, born in Turin in 1972, has a career path professional and eclectic staff that combines creativity, rigor, and social commitment. After studying Economics at the University of Turin and obtaining a the degree in Architecture at the Polytechnic, he worked as an architect in Turin and Paris until 2005, when he decided to dedicate himself to humanitarian missions with Doctors Without Borders in Angola and Bangladesh. These experiences taught him to manage resources, unexpected events, and responsibilities with a focus on the collective good.
Back in Italy, Talarico took care of the family real estate companies, becoming director of Algol Srl and Kauai Srl, while at the same time investing in different sectors, from Catering with the sushi bar chain Japs Srl, up to technological projects and to the rebirth of the historic stationery company Carioca SpA, of which he is now a shareholder and member of the board of directors.
Married and the father of two children, Andrea and Bianca, he embodies the image of an entrepreneur capable of combining ethics, professionalism, and innovation.

In bet of October 6, 2025 of the program Undercover boss, hosted by Elettra Lamborghini, Luca Talarico participated by taking on the role of the boss, working alongside employees of Carioca SpA, a Turin-based company founded in 1956 and famous for its markers, pens, and pencils.
During the show, Talarico worked alongside Liban, a young Somali who works in the warehouse and supplies department; Giuseppina, who assembles the pens; Dario, who produces the ink; and Rosanna, who is responsible for packaging the markers. Alongside them, the host worked in the Jumbo assembly department under the name Ramona.
La Carioca, based in Settimo Torinese and led by CEO Enrico Toledo, employs around 140 people and produces over a million markers a day, exporting to over 90 countries. The company is an example of Italian excellence, where technological innovation and attention to quality coexist with the valorization of work and sustainability, principles that Talarico also brings to his managerial vision, demonstrating that first-hand knowledge of processes and people is the foundation of a successful business.
