Al Bano in Russia: “There is a hunger for peace”

“More than listening to an Al Bano concert, in my opinion - says the singer from Cellino San Marco - there is a hunger for peace among the Russian people,” the singer had said before leaving for Russia.

“I could have chosen many other places to go and sing but as soon as they called me from St. Petersburg, five months ago, I I immediately gave the ok. And I go to talk about peace. To invoke peace. To sing peace. Because with the medium-high pace there is life, with war we know what happens: many mothers will never see their children again".

The video went viral

A video clip from Tg1 went viral on social networks. A few hours earlier, Al Bano he had intervened, via connection, on “La volta buona”, interviewed by Caterina Balivo who, after having asked him what he would have sung in Russia, asked him about the controversies:

“Those who criticize are always those who know nothing, they are out of the area, they don't know what reality is, they don't know that here, in Russia, we are here to be messengers of peace, it's my job and I will always do it, against everyone – said the singer – I go to bring peace where it is needed, I go to bring my music. If others criticize it is because they do not understand a damn thing, they are far from reality".

The gaffe on TV about the war

Interviewed by Tg1, after the concert in St. Petersburg on June 20, Al Bano he made a huge blunder demonstrating that he doesn't know much about what has been happening for three years now. “You turn on the TV and they say there are bombs and cannons everywhere.
