Alessandra Amoroso: the baby bump should not be seen as a limitation

Milan, 13 June (askanews) – Not a new beginning but a discovery of a different Alessandra Amoroso, four years after her last album, her new album is out.

“Io Non Sarei” was born from the need to be able to tell how I feel today in totality as a woman and as an artist. There are various facets that concern my voice, my way of wanting to interpret.

There is a part of me, a new discovery that as far as that whole authorial part is concerned, obviously is accompanied by great professionals, by great friends above all. I think that “Io Non Sarei” tells me exactly in my and feeling complete today as a woman and as an artist”.

In the album there are different sounds, with different and engaging styles that are still part of the heritage of Alessandra Amoroso, who is about to become a mother of Penelope. Engaged in an important live tour, she says this about her pregnancy, sending back to the sender with strength and class the criticism received.

“When I read comments from women criticizing women in general, I feel really sorry, because we should really unite and there is still some work to be done from this point of view. I don't find anything wrong with a person feeling good in their body. I feel great in mine, I'm grateful for life, very lucky because I can do my job in a normal way. It's so difficult to accept yourself sometimes, because there is a change, first of all the physical one. So I hope that things can change from this point of view. We must really try to embrace each other because we could change a lot, change a lot. So I hope this. The belly should not be seen as a limit, on the contrary I am so happy to be able to show myself and to be able to maybe be an example for other women who, due to shyness, embarrassment, fear of judgment, maybe don't feel comfortable with their body”.
