Milan, 17 June (Adnkronos) – “The Ai Act is an extremely complex text that has made a choice of technological neutrality that entails evident ambiguity. With the aim of being future-proof, it has become vague in some aspects and therefore compliance is very difficult and therefore also expensive for companies. It will certainly place significant burdens on small and medium-sized Italian companies”.

This is what Andrea Bertolini, director of the Center for the regulation of robotics and AI (Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna), stated on the sidelines of the round table organized by Meta in collaboration with Ispi “Ai governance between innovation and rules: a European challenge”, which was held in Milan. To resolve the ambiguities “the path of guidelines was chosen, a soft law solution – explains the professor -. They will not be normatively binding, and the judges of the different member states will be able to deviate in the application of these guidelines and this will lead to a fragmentation of the market which is a bit what the Ai Act was trying to avoid”.
