The Boccassuolo landslide: a worrying phenomenon
The Boccassuolo landslide, which has been creating alarm in the Modena Apennines community since the beginning of the month, has shown significant movement, moving over thirty meters. This geological event, which extends over a front of about three kilometers, has raised concerns among residents and local authorities.
The mayor of Palagano, Fabio Braglia, provided updates on the situation, highlighting that the landslide has reached the Dragone river and is moving en masse in the central part and towards the town.
Security measures and constant monitoring
Authorities are implementing safety measures to contain the phenomenon. Specialized companies are working with excavators to create guard ditches, trying to accompany the movement of the landslide and prevent further expansion that could put surrounding homes at risk. The mayor stressed the importance of monitoring the situation 24 hours a day, to ensure the safety of citizens and infrastructure.
Risks to infrastructure and the community
Another critical aspect concerns the proximity of the landslide to Terna's high-voltage pylons. Supervision of these structures is essential, as further movement of the landslide could compromise the electricity supply in the area. Local authorities are working with experts to assess the risks and plan evacuations, if necessary, to ensure the safety of the population.
