Adnkronos Rome, April 30 (Adnkronos) – “The minimum wage is no longer just a political proposal: it is a clear, urgent and legitimate request that comes from the real country. Over one hundred thousand citizens have signed a popular initiative law promoted jointly by the opposition. The government has the duty to schedule it without further delays”. This was stated in a note by Marta Bonafoni, coordinator of the national secretariat of the Democratic Party with responsibility for the Third Sector and associations.
"For too long the issue of poor work has been ignored. Prices rise, wages remain stagnant, contracts are not renewed: this is the unacceptable condition that millions of workers live every day. The minimum wage is a fundamental tool for social justice: it strengthens collective bargaining and restores dignity to work. There are no more excuses: the proposal must be discussed immediately".
