Davide Fontana killed his neighbor in Rescaldina, a young woman originally from Sesto Calende, with whom he was obsessed. The victim, Carol Maltesi, had decided to move to Verona to be close to her six-year-old son, who lived with his father in Veneto, news that has Fontana's fury unleashed. The man, who confessed to the crime, attacked the young woman with violent blows martello, and then inflict a deadly blow to the throat.

The two had planned to make a hard video to sell on OnlyFans: during the scene, Carol was hit in the head with a hammer 13 times while she was tied to a lap dance pole, and finally killed with a stab to the throat. After the murder, Fontana has dismembered the body, keeping the remains in the freezer for several weeks, before abandoning them in four plastic bags thrown off a cliff in Paline di Borno, in the Brescia area.

In addition to the charge of voluntary homicide, Fontana will also have to answer for destruction of a corpse.

This afternoon, Thursday 15 May, the Second Court of Appeal of Milan has confirmed the conviction to life imprisonment for Davide Fontana, thus reconfirming the sentence on the murder of Carol Maltesi.

The judges reiterated the presence of the aggravating circumstance of premeditation, a central element on which the Court of Cassation had ordered the referral of the proceedings to Milan twice, at the request of Fontana's lawyers. Deputy Attorney General Simonetta Bellaviti had also expressed herself in favor of the more severe penalty, underlining the seriousness of the crime committed. The reasons will be made known in 60 days
