Rome, November 12 (Adnkronos Salute) – "The debate promoted by Sumai-Assoprof highlighted that this phase of the National Health Service must be accompanied by a sense of collective responsibility on the part of all stakeholders in the system. The roundtable invited, and the audience welcomed, to work together to overcome professional barriers and specific interests.
To do this, we need a shared vision, a clear strategy, and a genuine sense of responsibility from everyone." This is what Fabrizio d'Alba, president of Federsanità and general director of the Policlinico Umberto I in Rome, told Adnkronos Salute at the 57th National Congress of Sumai-Asosprof Outpatient Specialists, currently underway in Rome.
"Regarding the upcoming budget, it has been acknowledged that the government continues to allocate resources to healthcare," says d'Alba. "Funding is never enough for us in the healthcare system, but it's positive that the increase has not stopped. This helps mitigate, though not solve, the system's sustainability and resilience issues." A key issue concerns the use of new resources and staffing. "We need to understand how they will be used: if they are allocated to local services, the choice will be consistent with the goal of strengthening community-based healthcare. Otherwise, it won't be. All decision-makers will be required to be consistent in allocating funds," emphasizes the president of Federsanità.
