DNA samples from Garlasco, new protagonists emerge
On leaving the hearing for the evidentiary incident in Pavia, which is part of the new phase of the investigation into the Garlasco crime - where the student Chiara lost her life on 13 August 2007 Poggi — the lawyers for the various parties reported that seven questions have been identified, all concerning genetic aspects and DNA analysis.
“The Stasi Defense asked and obtained to extend the DNA acquisition to other individuals who frequented the family or who may have contaminated the crime scene. Among these are the Cappa sisters, Marco Panzarasa, carabinieri who investigated at home, rescuers, and others also for indirect contamination. In all about ten people, some unrelated to the investigation. In fact, the acquisition of DNA does not automatically imply that the subjects will be investigated".
These questions, which are essential to shed light on the scientific evidence collected, were prepared to guide the experts in their technical checks, with the aim of clarifying the dynamics of the case through an in-depth examination of the biological material.

DNA samples will also be collected from the Cappa twins, from Marco Panzarasa, a friend of Alberto Stasi, from Roberto Freddi, Mattia Capra and Alessandro Biasibetti — all three friends of Marco Poggi — and from Andrea Sempio, in addition to those of the coroner, the investigators and the investigators involved in the first phase of the investigation into the Garlasco crime.
La the decision was taken by the investigating judge of Pavia, Daniela Garlaschelli, who instructed the experts to proceed with the major evidentiary incident regarding all the genetic analyses. The extension of the samples to these people, who they are not under investigation, has the purpose of make comparisons with the traces which will be recovered at the crime scene.
