Rome, May 14 (Adnkronos) – The press conference for the presentation of the 4th edition of Hydrogen Expo, the 2nd edition of Cybsec Expo and the 1st edition of Nuclear Power Expo took place today at the headquarters of Confindustria Piacenza: three trade fairs that will animate the Piacenza exhibition center from 21 to 23 May 2025.
Organized by Mediapoint & Exhibitions, the three fairs – which will take place simultaneously and which to date boast a record participation of over 220 exhibitors – represent a reference event for the energy transition, the safety of strategic infrastructures and technological development in our country. During the meeting, which attracted a qualified audience of journalists and operators in the sector, speakers included Gianluca Ceccarelli, Councilor for Financial Resources; Stefano Riva, manager of Confindustria Piacenza; Giuseppe Cavalli, president of Piacenza Expo and Fabio Potestà, director of Mediapoint & Exhibitions.
Gianluca Ceccarelli, Councilor for Financial Resources of the Municipality of Piacenza, underlined the value of the initiative: “I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to Mediapoint & Exhibitions and Piacenza Expo for their commitment to enhancing our territory through a high-level trade fair calendar. Piacenza is investing with determination to strengthen the IT security of local businesses and promote their innovative and sustainable development. In this context, trade fairs are an essential driving force for the local economy. Events such as Hydrogen Expo, Cybsec Expo and Nuclear Power Expo attract operators from all over Italy and abroad, generate related activities and offer exhibitors the opportunity to discover the potential of our territory. On behalf of the Administration of the Municipality of Piacenza and our Mayor, a sincere thank you to all those who make this growth possible and who, with their work, make Piacenza a point of reference in the national trade fair panorama”.
Stefano Riva, director of Confindustria Piacenza, said: “Hydrogen Expo, Cybsec Expo and Nuclear Power Expo represent a successful bet, with great feedback from companies and a vision oriented towards the future. Investing in innovation and sustainability today is essential to guarantee the competitiveness of our country. At a European level, where there is a need to catch up in digital, energy is the new frontier: it is essential to diversify sources and face challenges - including nuclear - without ideological alignments. These events are significant, as they offer a concrete response to the growing demand for energy, not only at a global level. At a local level, Confindustria Piacenza has created a cluster of companies to trace and develop the hydrogen supply chain, a rapidly expanding sector. Nuclear power, a crucial issue for the energy future, also finds a strong point here, thanks also to the synergy with cybersecurity, a constantly growing field. Piacenza companies are ready to make their contribution in these key sectors”.
Giuseppe Cavalli, President of Piacenza Expo, added: "We are proud to host three highly relevant events at Piacenza Expo that combine technological innovation, sustainability and safety, key themes for the future of our country. The synergy between Hydrogen Expo, Cybsec Expo and Nuclear Power Expo represents a unique opportunity for the territory and the national industrial system to address the challenges of energy transition and the protection of critical infrastructures. Our commitment, also in light of the positive results achieved as a trade fair center, is to guarantee an organization of excellence that fosters dialogue between businesses, institutions and the scientific community: with this spirit, we will continue to invest in the local economy and support initiatives that place Piacenza at the center of a modern and innovative vision of development."
Mediapoint & Exhibitions Director Fabio Potestà said: “By organizing Hydrogen Expo, Cybsec Expo and Nuclear Power Expo, in a single context, we aim to create an international reference event for technologies that are crucial for the decarbonization and safety of critical infrastructures. Italy, with its positioning as the second largest manufacturer in Europe, has a design know-how that is the basis of our economy. However, the cost of energy represents an increasingly urgent challenge, requiring a reflection on how to achieve greater energy autonomy, including the key role of nuclear power, in which we boast a supply chain of excellence: a heritage to be preserved, also through cybersecurity, which will play an increasingly strategic role. The fairs we have organized have brought together over 220 exhibitors and attracted highly qualified participation, confirming the growing interest in these issues. Piacenza Expo confirms itself as a strategic hub for innovation and technological growth. We thank all the institutions and associations that have granted us their support. patronage, as well as the partners and all the exhibitors who, year after year, continue to renew their trust in us. Their contribution is essential to build an increasingly authoritative event capable of generating value for the entire country system with a growing focus also on international markets”.
Precisely to confirm the importance of the three days in Piacenza, the three events have obtained broad institutional support, with numerous sponsorships granted both by the main trade organizations and by leading institutions and bodies: among all, the Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security, the Emilia-Romagna Region, the Municipality of Piacenza, the Conference of Regions and Autonomous Provinces. And again, the Sogin Group and the National Agency for New Technologies, Energy and Sustainable Economic Development (Enea).
The program is packed with meetings, conferences and workshops, details of which are available on the dedicated websites. As is traditional for all events organised by Mediapoint & Exhibitions, this time too there will be exclusive gala dinners reserved for the participants of the event and their guests. The evenings will take place in the splendid setting of the Sala degli Arazzi of the Galleria Alberoni in Piacenza, offering a moment of networking in a context of great historical and cultural prestige. The Hydrogen Expo exhibitors' dinner will be held on the opening day of 21 May. The Cybsec Expo and Nuclear Power Expo evenings will be held on 22 May.
Furthermore, on the evening of Thursday 22 May, the 3rd edition of the Ihta–Italian Hydrogen Technology Awards will be held, the awards designed to give international visibility to the work of companies operating both in Italy and abroad in the hydrogen technology supply chain, recognising their professionalism, know-how, development and strategic role: factors that constitute a real capital for the benefit of the entire economy, both national and European.
