Rome, June 17 (Adnkronos) – "Energy poverty, although it often remains on the margins of public debate, is central to the lives of millions of Italians. It is not just a condition of economic hardship, but a form of inequality that directly affects people's dignity, health, and the ability to live, work and study in adequate conditions".
This was stated by the Undersecretary of the Economy, Sandra Savino, speaking at the seventh Plenary of the Energy Bank, currently underway in Rome.
It is, he continued, a "transversal phenomenon" between the north and the south "extensive and unfortunately growing. As a government we are called to a dual task: on the one hand to guarantee the balance and sustainability of public accounts, on the other to act so that the energy transition leaves no one behind. Sustainability - Savino said - cannot be the privilege of a few, but must become a right for all".
