Milan, June 23 (Adnkronos) – The hearing of the appeal trial for the Milan prosecutor Fabio De Pasquale and his colleague, now at the European Public Prosecutor's Office, Sergio Spadaro, has been postponed to September 25. Both were sentenced in the first instance to 8 months (suspended sentence) for refusing to perform official duties in the context of the Eni-Nigeria investigation.

They are accused of having refused to submit in 2021 evidence deemed potentially favorable to the defendants in the Eni-Nigeria international corruption trial, which ended with the acquittal of all defendants.

In today's hearing, the judges of the Court of Appeal of Brescia rejected the request of the two defendants, represented by the lawyer Massimo Dinoia, to acquire some minutes of the Equalize investigation, in particular the interrogations of the former super-policeman (deceased) Carmine Gallo and the hacker Nunzio Samuele Calamucci, in reference to alleged reports commissioned by Eni to the agency in via Pattari. The discussion of the parties is expected in the next hearing.
