Rome, 7 Feb. (Adnkronos) – "Matteo Salvini's statements on the Paragon case raise worrying questions, especially when the Deputy Prime Minister suggests that there are 'settling of scores within the intelligence services'. Such a statement, which suggests scenarios of internal clashes between state apparatuses – and which puts our intelligence apparatuses in a bad light – is extremely serious and requires immediate clarity from Salvini himself. We demand this from him and from the Undersecretary to the Presidency Alfredo Mantovano in his capacity as Delegated Authority for the Security of the Republic". This is what Matteo Mauri, Head of Security for the Democratic Party, says.
"Salvini also claims to know nothing, to have seen nothing and to be unable to say anything about the use of the "Paragon" Spyware. A "three monkeys" strategy that is absolutely unacceptable for the Democratic Party, especially when it comes to issues that touch on national security and the protection of fundamental rights." For this reason, several PD parliamentarians have filed questions so that the Government clarifies as soon as possible."
"At a time when concerns about security and freedom of the press are emerging, Salvini cannot allow himself to say that he will ask for information - it is not clear in what capacity - from some of his Israeli friends, and all of Italy has the right to know whether the limits imposed by law and the guarantees provided for the protection of citizens have been respected, and what measures the executive intends to adopt to avoid dangerous drifts".
