The wait seems to be finally over. On the evening of Tuesday 13 May, the 69th edition of theEurovision 2025 Song Contest, an event that attracts the attention of millions of viewers around the world. With 37 countries competing, the competition promises to give emotions and surprises. After having had its baptism in Switzerland in 1956, this year the kermesse returns to the country that saw its birth, but this time it will take place in Basel.
The tension is growing, the semi-final is upon us. But who are the protagonists of this edition? And above all, how is Italy preparing for the event?
Eurovision 2025: the lineup of the first semi-final: the Italians in the competition
Tonight, the spotlight is on singer-songwriter Lucio Corsi, who won over the audience with “Volevo essere un duro”. His song, winner of the Mia Martini Critics' Award at Sanremo, is already a success, and tonight he will have the opportunity to take to the stage ofEurovision 2025. Among his most beloved songs, his performance will take place around 22.30pm, immediately after Tommy Cash's Estonia, who will bring his “Espresso Macchiato”. A touch of Italy, as is now tradition. But Corsi is not the only Italian face to grace the stage. Gabry Ponte, the DJ and producer from Turin, represents San Marino with “Tutta l'Italia”, one of the most anticipated songs of this edition. His performance is scheduled shortly after that of Corsi.
Alongside the Italians, eyes are on other artists who, despite representing other countries, have strong ties with Italy. Let's not forget Kolë Laça, former keyboardist of the Teatro degli Orrori, or Shkodra Elektronike, who will compete for Albania. The competition is full of surprises.

Eurovision 2025: an edition full of news and curiosities
THEEurovision for the year 2025 It's not just music: each performance will be preceded by a presentation video that will see the artists on a sort of tour in the Swiss locations. Each competing country will have a “host” who will welcome the singer and guide him in cultural activities. A little gem that makes the competition even more engaging. But that's not all: among the special guests of the evening there will also be Hazel Brugger and Sandra Studer, who will join Michelle Hunziker for the final. And the evening will not be limited to music: during the breaks, the audience will be able to immerse themselves in comedy sketches and historic performances, such as the one dedicated to Celine Dion, who triumphed with Switzerland in 1988.
In short, theEurovision 2025 promises to be an edition not to be missed, with a mix of emotions, art and tradition that makes this event unique. It will be really interesting to see if Italy, despite the less than optimistic predictions of the bookmakers, will be able to make its entry into the top 10. The televoting, as always, will decide.
