A new chapter for the Falcone Foundation
The Falcone Foundation has officially opened its first office abroad, located in Siggiewi, Triq Santa Margerita 10, in the heart of Malta's historic centre. This event represents a significant step in the fight against organised crime and corruption in Europe. The opening ceremony, scheduled for 10 November, will be attended by prominent figures, including Maria Falcone, President of the Foundation, and the President of the Republic of Malta, Myriam Spiteri Debono.
Uniting Memories for a Better Future
Maria Falcone stressed the importance of uniting Europe's memories in the fight against organised crime. In a letter addressed to the Maltese President, she stated: “Placing the memories of Giovanni Falcone and Paolo Borsellino alongside those of Daphne Caruana Galizia, the courageous journalist who was murdered, is a service to young people and schools”. This approach aims to encourage collective participation in tackling corruption and blackmail, calling for the adoption of concrete measures such as an EU directive on the confiscation of mafia assets.
Future projects and collaborations
The Falcone Foundation is not limited to this new location. Maria Falcone announced that the organization is actively engaged in the creation of a Museum of the Present in Palermo, Bressanone and Rome. However, the Malta location is only the beginning of a broader journey. Thanks to the commitment of friends and collaborators, such as notary Robert Aquilina, the Foundation will have a representative in Malta to coordinate initiatives aimed at young people and the world of work.
Furthermore, the delegation attending the inauguration will include Professor Valerio Vallefuoco, an international anti-money laundering expert and brand ambassador of the Foundation. This event marks a crucial moment for the Falcone Foundation and for the fight against organized crime in Europe, with the aim of educating and raising awareness among the new generations.
