A funeral that becomes a symbol of hope and change for women victims of violence.

A funeral that marks a moment of reflection

The funeral of Teresa Stabile, a victim of femicide, took place today in Samarate, in the province of Varese, attracting the attention of many, including Nicolò Maja, the sole survivor of another tragic family murder. The ceremony was attended by friends, family and supporters, all united in the memory of a woman who fought for her freedom.

Teresa’s aunt described her death as “foretold,” highlighting the years of harassment she had suffered and her determination to free herself from a toxic relationship.

The message of hope for the new generations

During the ceremony, a strong message of hope and change emerged. “We women want more: that the murderous hands are stopped sooner,” declared the aunt, drawing attention to the need for a collective commitment to prevent gender violence. This appeal is addressed not only to institutions, but also to civil society, to create an environment in which women can feel safe and respected.

A symbol of the fight against gender violence

As a sign of solidarity, the women present at the funeral were invited to wear a red ribbon, a gesture that represents the commitment against gender violence. The donations collected during the ceremony will go to two foundations, the National Cancer Institute and the Giulia Cecchettin Foundation, as a testimony to how the memory of Teresa can contribute to a greater cause. Her story, unfortunately tragic, thus becomes a symbol of struggle and resistance against a phenomenon that continues to affect many women in Italy and around the world.
